Overview

Olay Regenerist supposedly offers an alternative to other ways of exfoliating the skin from dead skin, which is a leading cause of wrinkles. The company claims that Regenerist may be comparable to chemical peels and less harsh on the skin. In addition, this line of formulas is intended to encourage the production of collagen in the skin, which is preferable to attempting to deliver collagen from animal or sea plants.

Featured Ingredients

To accomplish its effects, Regenerist employs the use of peptides, which are precursors to proteins that make up many constituents in the skin, such as collagen and elastin. While some research suggests that peptides may in fact encourage the skin to produce collagen, the effect does not seem to be as dramatic as other compounds, such as Glucosamine Complex, which boosts collagen my 168% or more.  The Regenerist line of formulas also offers some of the more common antioxidants, such as Vitamin E, Vitamin B3 and ProVitamin B5. These nutrients have been shown to help protect the skin from sun exposure and environmental pollutants, which can degrade the skin and cause wrinkles. But the AntiAging-Reviews.com researchers are concerned that these synthetic forms of the vitamins may cause side effects for some people. The team is encouraged, however, that Regenerist formulas contain Green Tea, which is a natural botanical antioxidant and may be less harsh yet more powerful than the aforementioned vitamins. Hopefully, the makers of Regenerist add more of these compounds and replace synthetic vitamins with more natural sources.

Web Site Description

The Olay web site is very attractive and well constructed, which is what you would expect from a successful retail company with years of financial success. They obviously have spent a lot of money to make their web site appealing. The descriptions of the products seem succinct and easy to understand. The web site does not include testimonials from customers who have used the products, and there is a disturbing lack of scientific research on the ingredients in the product line. Plus, the only way to order Olay Regenerist is by visiting a retail store, which may be inconvenient and more expensive for the Internet consumer.

Positives

- Tries to encourage skin to produce collagen, rather than trying to deliver non-human collagen to the skin

- Use of at least one botanical antioxidant, which is preferable to synthetic vitamins

Negatives- Online ordering is not available

- Regenerist does not contain Glucosamine Complex, which could enhance collagen production by 168%

- No costumer testimonials nor proof of its effects

Conclusion

Olay Regenerist seems to be popular because of Olay’s history of success in the retail industry, but this formula lacks essential components that could make it perform as claimed. While the use of peptides and antioxidants will cause some reduction of wrinkles and fine lines, the effect would be better if they had decided to use more powerful ingredients.

The Dermitage system continues to set the standard for reducing and preventing wrinkles without injections. The AntiAging-Reviews.com research team continues to be impressed by this formula's advanced technology, which allows for deep delivery of its potent anti-aging compounds. Not only does Dermitage help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but it also helps boost collagen production, promotes optimum moisturization and provides antioxidant protection so that your skin resists the main causes of skin aging. I am 60 years old, started using Olay Regenerist 6 months ago, but had to stop because I got a rash and a feeling of dryness or dehydration. When younger, I tried Oil of Olay which was ok for me, but after a few weeks started experimenting pimples. So I would not use any Olay products anymore. Meanwhile I am using Roc Lift and Define products and have noticed better skin for my age.

I am 59 and just purchased Oil of Olay Pro skin care and Oil of Olay Regenerist cleansing cloths. I woke up this morning with a rash on my face and it feels like I scrubed my face with sand paper. I will go back to using nothing. I am suprised that a common name in skin care has had this effect on me. I am sorry I made the investment in this product.

I beagan using Regenerist Olay face cream about 3 weeks ago. After just a few days I noticed my nose was often itchy, what seemed like small blind pimples appeared on & around the nose area. I persisted with the cream until a friend who was also using this face cream reported experiencing very similar symptoms. We have stopped using the product. Perhaps using the cleanser would help. I would not buy it but would like a sample to try. I beieve there should have been a money back gurantee, or at least some kind of refund.

I am 45 years old and after three applications of Regenerist over 2 days, I awoke unable to breathe as my tongue had swollen so much. After washing my face a number of times & a dose of antihistimane the swelling went down. I am not game to use Regenerist again, as this was the only thing I could pin this reaction down to. (My skin, however, looked noticably tighter…but I’m not risking it again)

I am 30 years old and purchased Oil of Olay Regenerist Moisturizer with hopes of its claims of moisture to the skin and anti aging qualities. I used this product for two days and my face is broken out in a red bumpy rash. The rash is itchy and ugly and covers my forehead all the way down my neck. I was very surprised that a product name that my mother has been using since she was young has left me with this mess. I will be returning this product and was advised to use Nueutrogena by friends, an esthetician, and a dermatologist. Now if i can get rid of the rash i’d be happy again.

I am 43 years old and used Olay Regenerist Uv Defense Regenerating Lotion for 2 days and ended up with a severe allergic reaction with swollen eyelids and red, itchy face. Went to dermatologist who gave me a steroid injection, cortisone cream, and was told to take Zyrtec for a week. Won’t try any of these products again. Stick to Cetaphil and Eucerin products and the Aveeno for sensitive skin line is great too.
