Overview
Estee Lauder has truly risen from its humble beginnings to become an international giant in the cosmetic industry. Like many of the large corporations, it has branched out from its core products to enter into the field of wrinkle reduction and skin ant-aging. One of its most popular anti-wrinkle formulas is the company’s Intensive Lifting Cream apparently contains more than 54 ingredients. Unfortunately, more ingredients does not necessarily mean better effects, especially if the product in question does not contain enough of each of these compounds to create any therapeutic effect.
Featured Ingredients
Even though Intensive Lifting Cream apparently contains more than 54 ingredients, Estee Lauder only discloses a few of them, so it is hard to make a full judgment of the formula. What is known is that Intensive Lifting Cream contains pearl powder, which is supposed to make the skin appear soft and glowing. While pearl powder may sound fancy enough to warrant the formula’s high price, the science behind this ingredient is less than convincing. Even though it may make the surface of skin appear more luminous, pearl powder does not do anything to go deep into skin to address wrinkles, including boosting collagen production.
Grape Extract and Boswellia are two plant compounds that are also included in the Intensive Lifting Cream formula, but we also question their use. Grape Extract also seems to have a surface effect that may help skin look and feel momentarily softer, but a better choice would have been to use Grape Seed extract, which performs a deep and lasting protective effect for skin. While Boswellia has traditionally been used as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, there is little scientific evidence for its effect on the skin.
Web Site Description
Like many companies of its size, Estee Lauder has obviously spent a lot of money putting together an attractive web site with a lot of visual appeal. But the site seems to lack a lot of what consumers need to make a logical decision about the effects of the product. In addition to not fully disclosing all 54 of the ingredients in the Intensive Lifting Cream formula, Estee Lauder does not post any research. In addition, while the product is available for online purchase, at $254 for a small bottle, it will probably be too expensive for most people.
Positives
- Estee Lauder has an established reputation as a cosmetic company
Negatives
- Product may be too expensive ($254) for most people
- No free trial offered
- Full ingredient list is not available prior to purchasing
Conclusion
While the AntiAging-Reviews.com research team has been impressed with some Estee Lauder products in the past, they were more than a bit disappointed with the way the company approached its Instant Lifting Cream formula. Until the company brings down the price, offers a free trial or - at the very least - fully discloses all of the ingredients in the product, it is hard for us to recommend their anti-wrinkle formula.
