Overview

It may seem odd to review this company’s products within the scope of the rest of the reviews on the AntiAging-Reviews.com web site, considering that Bare Escentuals is primarily known for its revolutionary line of make up, which is based on natural minerals and free of any additives. While the makeup still drives this company’s success, Bare Escentuals has released a small number of anti-aging formulations. While they are not as extensive as other companies’ product offerings, this company did deserve some attention, since many consumers may wonder if a company that is so successful at offering high quality makeup can do the same with an anti-wrinkle cream.

 Featured Ingredients

The only Bare Escentuals product that has received enough attention to warrant its own review is the Wrinkle Filler & Deep Crease Relaxer. This product is not a typical wrinkle reducer formula, in that it is not offered as a cream or lotion in a normal bottle or jar. Wrinkle Filler & Deep Crease Relaxer actually comes in a device similar to a pen, which suggests that the formula is meant to be used for spot treatment, rather than an overall anti-aging effect. While this may seem important, we’d like to see Bare Escentuals develop an entire facial formula, like the Dermitàge Anti-Aging System or similar products.

Wrinkle Filler & Deep Crease Relaxer apparently delivers peptides into the skin, which are meant to encourage the production of collagen. However, it is hard to judge whether the product accomplishes this task, since it is not known which peptides are used and how effective they have been in research studies or with customers. Hopefully, the formula contains Hyaluronic Acid, Glucosamine Complex or Lifting Spheres, since these ingredients have been proven to stimulate collagen production and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. But until we verify the exact ingredients in the formula, it is difficult to make a decisive conclusion about Bare Escentuals Wrinkle Filler & Deep Crease Relaxer.

Web Site Description

The Bare Escentuals web site does contain extensive lists of terms commonly used in the cosmetic industry, which may be helpful to some consumers who are unfamiliar with such terms. While the site does contain some stories from consumers, it is sparse in its information about the ingredients in the company’s anti-aging products. Thus, most consumers may visit the site and feel unsure about purchasing a product that they know little about.

 Positives

- Produced by a company with a solid reputation for creating natural, safe products

 Negatives

- Unclear information about the ingredients in the formula

- May only offer spot treatment and not comprehensive facial renewal

- Lack of Glucosamine Complex and other known collagen boosters

 Conclusion

Since Bare Escentuals does not fully disclose what peptides are included in the Wrinkle Filler & Deep Crease Relaxer formula, AntiAging-Reviews.com cannot recommend this product. While the company’s line of makeup continues to impress us, we would look elsewhere to find the kind of visible wrinkle reduction that can make one look younger.

Overview

Sta-Tight was created by Dr. Lewis Feder, who - according to the company’s web site - was among the first East Coast doctors to use collagen injections for the face and who now is on the forefront of using skin grafts to help revitalize the skin. Dr. Feder created Sta-Tight as an alternative to Botox and other injections. According to the web site, Sta-Tight helps firm and tighten skin in as little as 2-3 days. This seems like an impressive claim, if it proves to be true.

 Featured Ingredients

Sta-Tight delivers an amino acid known as Acetyl Hexapeptide-3. As opposed to Botox, which is supposed to smooth out wrinkles by freezing the facial muscles so they stop contracting and causing creases in the skin, Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 apparently relaxes those muscles with the same intent. While the research behind Acetyl Hexepaptide-3 does look encouraging, results seem to be mixed.

Sta-Tight also contain sodium Hyaluronate, which is a particular form of Hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is one of the best skin moisturizers on the market. It holds up to 1,000 times its own weight in water, and thus helps keep skin smooth and soft. Sta-Tight and Dr. Feder should be commended for adding his superior anti-aging nutrient to the product.

However, the product could go a few steps further by encouraging collagen production in the skin. While facial muscle contraction and hydration are important, a comprehensive wrinkle formula should also include compounds such as Lifting Spheres, Glucosamine Complex and Regenex to help the skin produce more of its own collagen, since most wrinkles form when the body’s collagen production declines.

 Web Site Description

The Sta-Tight web site seems to be clinical in focus. There are some research studies posted, as well as biographical information on Dr. Feder. The site also contains compelling before/after photos of consumers who have used the formula. Unfortunately, the AntiAging-Reviews.com research team soon realized that much of the research for the formula is focused on Acetyl Hexapeptide-3, one of the ingredients in the formula, rather than the entire formula.

 Positives

- Use of Hyaluronic Acid

- Research on Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 is compelling

 Negatives

- No research on the entire formula

- Unclear if a Free Trial of the product is available

- Formula lacks Glucosamine Complex and other known collagen boosters

 Conclusion

In essence, Sta-Tight seems like a formula that is almost there. While the inclusion of Hyaluronic Acid deserves praise, the failure to include known collagen boosters like Glucosamine Complex makes the formula incomplete. Hopefully Dr. Feder and his team take the time to revise the formula to include this ingredient so that one day we can endorse it. Until then, consumers are advised to look elsewhere.

Overview

Juve Miracle Cream was developed to provide consumers with yet another formula that can act as an alternative to Botox injections. Apparently, the ingredients included in the formula were chosen for their ability to mimic Botox’s effects - namely by counteracting the facial muscle contraction that can cause wrinkles - without a needle. While one of the ingredients in the formula has shown an ability in research studies to accomplish that feat, it is not clear what other compounds Juve Miracle Cream contains, making it hard to recommend the formula.

 Featured Ingredients

Juve Miracle Cream is intended to provide a way of affecting the facial muscles of the skin in the hopes of reducing one of the causes of wrinkles. By including Argireline, which is an amino acid shown to relax facial muscles, Juve Miracle Cream may help promote this effect. However, while the research on Argireline may be encouraging, the company does not supply any such effects on the rest of the formula.

Speaking of the rest of the formula, aside from Argireline, it is unclear what other ingredients are contained in Juve Miracle Cream. For some reason, the company has decided not to include this information. Without additional nutrients, such as Glucosamine Complex to boost collagen, Hyaluronic Acid to retain moisture and Lifting Spheres to smooth out wrinkles from underneath, Juve Miracle Cream only addresses one cause of wrinkles and ignores the rest.

 Web Site Description

As previously mentioned, the company web site does not contain any additional information about the other ingredients in the formula. Thus, the site is also incomplete. While there is some supporting material on the web site, including customer testimonials, it is hard to overlook the fact that Juve Miracle Cream only addresses one cause of wrinkles. In addition, at $130 a bottle, this product is much too expensive, considering that it only contains one known active anti-wrinkle ingredient.

 Positives

- May offer an alternative to Botox

 Negatives

- Other ingredients are not listed

- High price ($130) for an incomplete formula

- No free trial information was available

 Conclusion

While Juve Miracle Cream seemed to start off in the right direction by featuring an ingredient that may actually have an effect on facial muscles and thus reduce wrinkles, it fails to deliver in other areas. In today’s world, you simply cannot ignore the depletion of collagen or the loss of moisture, neither of which will be helped by using Juve Miracle Cream. If you want to look younger, consider a different product.

Overview

Clarins originated in France back in the 1950s, and the company’s international popularity reached a high point in the 1970s. Over the years, Clarins has introduced many botanical and medically based formulas, many of which can have beneficial effects on the skin. For the purposes of this review, AntiAging-Reviews.com decided to review one of its most popular anti-wrinkle formulas, called Extra-Firming Day Cream. This product is intended mainly for women over 40 and promises to increase the skin’s firmness while protecting the body from free radical damage.

 Featured Ingredients

The main ingredient in Clarins Extra-Firming Day Cream is the complex known as Stimulen. Stimulen was first invented as a medical treatment to help burn victims recover from their injuries by stimulating the production of collagen in the skin. Though powerful, we have to wonder if such a clinically based formula may be too harsh for those with normal skin types. Since Stimulen has been invented, several other powerful collagen boosters have been invented, which may be more sensible choices for the everyday consumer. These include Glucosamine Complex, Hyaluronic Acid, and Lifting Spheres among others.

This formula, like many of Clarins line of products, also includes botanically based antioxidants to protect the skin from the future effects of aging. While many of these botanicals do help with protecting the skin, it would be most helpful if the company offered an anti-wrinkle formula that contained Green Tea, White Tea and Grape Seed Extract. These specific botanicals are among the most powerful skin protectors available.

 Web Site Description

The Clarins company web site contains plenty of information for consumers interested in botanically based skincare products. Fortunately, the site includes a complete listing of ingredients, as well as a glossary to help define some of the botanicals used in the Clarins line of products. However, there are no scientific studies, which could be helpful for those looking for research about the ingredients. In addition, there is no pricing information and no way to purchase Clarins directly from the web site, meaning that most consumers will have to find the formulas at a retail store, which can be inconvenient and more expensive.

 Positives

- Plenty of useful information on the web site

 Negatives

- May not use the best collagen boosters

- No Hyaluronic acid for optimum moisturization

- No scientific research or free trial offered

 Conclusion

While it is hard to come up with negative things to say about Clarins and its Extra-Firming Day Cream, due to the company’s dedication to using botanical ingredients, this formula left us wanting more. Even though Stimulen is an intriguing choice, there may be other, more powerful ingredients that can fight wrinkles more effectively.
