Overview
Clinique is a household name in retail cosmetics, and the company recently released its own line of anti-aging formulas. While a company like this can obviously bring a lot of attention to the problem of wrinkles and fine lines and use their notoriety to promote effective ways for looking younger, AntiAging-Reviews.com researchers suspect that their creation of the Total Turnaround wrinkle reducer formula may be just another product formulated to take advantage of the boom in the anti-aging industry.
Featured Ingredients
Unfortunately, while Clinique does seem to offer superior make up formulas, the Total Turnaround formula seems to be an odd combination. In fact, the only way to find out the actual ingredients in this product was to purchase a supply, since the Clinique web site does not reveal what is actually in the formula or how it works.
After purchasing the formula, the AntiAging-Reviews.com team found that Total Turnaround contains Salicylic Acid, which is an ingredient found in some of the most effective acne formula, but not one usually included in wrinkle formulas. The reason seems to be that Total Turnaround claims to exfoliate the skin with Salicylic Acid, but this ingredient, because it primarily treats blemishes, seems an odd choice.
However, the formula nearly redeems itself by including Glucosamine, which is one of the best known nutrients for fostering skin renewal and encouraging the production of collagen. However, Clinique’s source for Glucosamine is not known - and upon further investigation it was revealed that Total Turnaround does not contain actual Glucosamine Complex, which is a careful blend of specially derived Glucosamine prized for its optimum effects on the skin.
Web Site Description
As previously mentioned, the Clinique web site provides very little information about its products’ ingredients or the research behind them. Considering how successful this company is, we have to wonder they did not spend more time or money to communicate clearly to consumers about their products. In addition, the AntiAging-Reviews.com team could not find any testimonials attesting to Total Turnaround’s supposed benefits.
Positives
- Use of Glucosamine, a proven collagen booster (but the wrong source of Glucosamine)
Negatives
- Very little information available on the web site
- No customer testimonials
- Direct purchase option only - no Free Trial
Conclusion
While members of our team would - and regularly do - use Clinique makeup products, they are less than enthusiastic about Total Turnaround. The product seems inconsistent. We still do not understand the addition of Salicylic Acid (an anti-acne ingredient), and even the Glucosamine in the product seems inferior. We cannot recommend this product at this time.
