Overview
Biotox is formulated and distributed by the company Buddha Care, which apparently has a line of products in the body care field, formulas for hair care and teas. It recently released an anti-wrinkle product called Biotox, which is supposed to promote younger skin through its unique mixture of traditional wrinkle reduction compounds along with several natural botanical ingredients. AntiAging-Reviews.com decided to analyze this blend to see if it could deliver as promised.
Featured Ingredients
Biotox contains Marine Collagen, which is derived most likely from shellfish or plant sources from the ocean (such as seaweed). While the natural choice deserves some praise, rather than relying on synthetic ingredients, we question any product that claims to deliver collagen to the skin. To our knowledge, this feat is accomplished only through injection, since whole collagen molecules are too large to penetrate the outer layers of skin. In contrast, it makes more sense to stimulate the skin to produce more of its own collagen through such powerful ingredients as Glucosamine Complex.
Biotox also contains Argireline, an amino acid that is supposed to relax facial muscles in the hopes of counteracting the contractions that can cause wrinkles to become deeper. However, clinical tests suggest that it requires 15 days of constant use (as much as 3 times a day) to reduce wrinkles by 60%. There may be other compounds, such as Regenex and Glucosamine Complex, which actually may produce better results in a shorter amount of time.
In addition, it is puzzling why Biotox includes Cranberry Extract. While cranberry is a powerful antioxidant that can have protective effects on the urinary tract - and it does enhance the immune system’s ability to resist illness - there is no evidence showing that it can promote younger-looking skin.
Web Site Description
While Buddha Care’s site for Biotox does contain some useful information and features, it fails to provide enough research on its ingredients - especially Cranberry. The company does not post any testimonials, and it would he helpful to know how this product has worked for others in the past. Fortunately, Biotox can be ordered online, and the site does offer securing ordering.
Positives
- Secure, direct ordering available
Negatives
- Use of collagen is questionable
- Cranberry has no scientific research for use on the skin
- No online testimonials
Conclusion
Even though we appreciate Buddha Care’s efforts to combine known skincare ingredients with herbal and botanical compounds, Biotox falls short because of inferior ingredient choices. Consumers would do better to seek a formula that contains Regenex, Glucosamine and botanical antioxidants like Green Tea, White Tea and Grape Seed Extract.
