Overview
The company has increased its visibility over the past few years, thanks to its focus on full-page advertising in national magazines. Janson Beckett offers a wide array of creams and lotions for the skin, but its AlphaDerma CE is perhaps its most well-known product. AlphaDerma CE is supposed to offer a non-invasive alternative to Botox and other injections for tightening the skin and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. After further investigation, however, it seems as if the formula falls a bit short.
Featured Ingredients
AlphaDerma CE contains mostly the neurotransmitter Argireline, which is supposed to strengthen the facial muscles and reduce the contractions that cause wrinkles. Some research has found that Argireline may in fact produce this effect, but follow up tests have been inconclusive. The company claims that this compound can also boost production of collagen and elastin, but there is no scientific research yet substantiating this. In addition, while this ingredient does seem to be a safe alternative to Botox, not much is known about Argireline’s long-term effects on the skin. While Argireline may be encouraging, it seems a better choice to use an anti-wrinkle formula that contains other known collagen boosters, such as Regenex, Glucosamine Complex, especially when combined with the near-instant lifting effects of Lifting Spheres and the softening properties of Hyaluronic Acid. We’d like to see if Janson Beckett creates a formula with these ingredients to add to AlphaDerma CE’s theoretical effects.
Web Site Description
As opposed to the other products that we have reviewed, the web site for AlphaDerma CE does seem to contain a lot of information about the product, including plenty of research articles about Argireline. The company does include plenty of customer testimonials, and there is a free trial option.
Positives
-Argireline does seem to be a safe alternative to Botox
Negatives
- Formula does not contain Glucosamine Complex
- At more than $149 a bottle, AphaDerma CE is quite expensive
- Delivery system is not known
Conclusion
Although AlphaDerma CE promises a safe alternative to Botox, and Argireline does seem to have its share of benefits, the formula does fall short in other ways, especially when it comes to boosting collagen production. While this formula may produce some tightening and firming, the lack of other known nutrients may make these effects short-term.
