Overview

La Therapie began primarily as a company that supplies high-quality pharmaceutical grade products to doctors and spas. Until recently, consumers could not purchase La Therapie on their own without visiting one of these other sources. But La Therapie recently created its own line of at-home products. While the company does have a solid reputation among many professionals, its consumer-based formulas seem outdated.

 Featured Ingredients

La Therapie’s premier anti-aging formula is the Crème Hydralift, which is supposed to enhance moisture in the skin and thus provide the foundation for wrinkle reduction. The formula, like many in La Therapie’s line, contains a base of Glycolic Acid, Vitamin A and Vitamin C. While these ingredients were used quite often in the late 1990s, they recently have fallen out of favor with most skincare professionals. Prior to 1992, Glycolic Acid was available only by prescription because it was such a strong alpha-hydroxy acid that could cause s irritation and peeling. Research has since questioned the use of this ingredient because of the risk of side effects. Vitamins A and C, although they are useful antioxidants that can protect the skin from damage associated with wrinkles, are also outdated because most vitamins in skin products are synthetic. Newer, more powerful antioxidants from botanical sources - such as Green Tea, White Tea and Grape Seed Extract - are better choices.

La Therapie Crème Hydralift also claims to help reduce the signs of aging by including extract from caviar. While this may sound exotic - and even though there is limited scientific evidence suggesting that caviar contains many nutrients that can help the skin - there does not seem to be enough of this ingredient in the product to do anything more than make its high price excusable.

 Web Site Description

The La Therapie web site is attractive and easy to navigate. It definitely suggests refinement and the kind of spa-like experience that the company wants its customers to experience by using its products. There is a lot of information about Glycolic Acid, Vitamin A and Vitamin C on the web site, but as mentioned, much of this research may already be obsolete. No free trial seems to be available.

 Positives

- Limited research suggests that caviar may indeed help the skin

 Negatives

- Glycolic Acid, Vitamin A and Vitamin C are outdated choices

- No collagen boosting ingredients such as Glucosamine

- No free trial information

 Conclusion

While La Therapie may offer a well-know line of anti-aging products for spas and doctor’s offices, its at-home line seems to fall short. While most people will not be harmed by using this formula, spending this much money on a formula that lacks essential components for healthy skin does not seem warranted. La Therapie’s Crème Hydralift would - at best - be a supportive formula for other, more powerful formulas.

Overview

This product was created based on the research of Dr. Richard J. Matthews, who does have an impressive history in the fields of neurology and pharmacology. Dr. Mathews has conducted research which suggests that many wrinkles and fine lines are caused by the breakdown of the skin cell’s ability to use energy. He believes that when a particular molecule called “Cyclic amP” stops functioning properly, it likewise stops activating the enzymes that help keep wrinkles from forming. Intrigued by this theory, AntiAging-Reviews.com researchers decided to consider Dr. Mathews’ lead formula, Strata C, in more detail.

 Featured Ingredients

Rather than trying to either replace or revitalize the body’s supply of Cyclic amP, which has yet to be discovered, Dr. Mathews created Strata C to skirt around the molecule and find other ways to activate the enzymes that the body naturally uses to keep wrinkles away. Thus, the formula contains several enzyme boosters, but aside from trying to decipher the very technical reports on the Strata C web site, the average consumer would probably find it difficult to say what those enzyme boosters are - and whether they work or not.

It is admirable that Strata C contains Hyaluronic Acid, which is a proven nutrient found to enhance moisture in the skin and thus encourage the reduction of wrinkles while protecting the integrity of collagen. Hyaluronic Acid holds 1,000 times its own weight in water and thus makes an excellent choice to help soften and smooth the skin.

 Web Site Description

The web site seems to do a fairly good job at describing Dr. Matthews’ history of research, as well as Strata C and the theory behind its effects. Visitors do have several purchase options, including a small sample. Unfortunately, the site reveals that it may take up to 10-12 weeks to notice any reduction in wrinkles or lines, meaning that most people will need to buy several bottles of Strata C before discovering if it is right for them.

 Positives

- Intriguing research and a fresh approach to wrinkle reduction

- Use of Hyaluronic Acid

 Negatives

- Formula lacks other collagen boosters, such as Glucosamine Complex

- Enzyme research does not yet seem complete at this time

- May take 10-12 weeks for noticeable improvements

 Conclusion

At this point, the AntiAging-Reviews.com research team cannot make a full recommendation on Strata C, mainly because the formula does not seem to yet have the proven track record of other products that are known to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. We continue to be impressed with Dr. Matthews’ background and knowledge, and hope that soon he and his team can combine their research with Regenex, Glucosamine Complex and other ingredients to make their formula complete.

Overview

Clinique is a household name in retail cosmetics, and the company recently released its own line of anti-aging formulas. While a company like this can obviously bring a lot of attention to the problem of wrinkles and fine lines and use their notoriety to promote effective ways for looking younger, AntiAging-Reviews.com researchers suspect that their creation of the Total Turnaround wrinkle reducer formula may be just another product formulated to take advantage of the boom in the anti-aging industry.

 Featured Ingredients

Unfortunately, while Clinique does seem to offer superior make up formulas, the Total Turnaround formula seems to be an odd combination. In fact, the only way to find out the actual ingredients in this product was to purchase a supply, since the Clinique web site does not reveal what is actually in the formula or how it works.

After purchasing the formula, the AntiAging-Reviews.com team found that Total Turnaround contains Salicylic Acid, which is an ingredient found in some of the most effective acne formula, but not one usually included in wrinkle formulas. The reason seems to be that Total Turnaround claims to exfoliate the skin with Salicylic Acid, but this ingredient, because it primarily treats blemishes, seems an odd choice.

However, the formula nearly redeems itself by including Glucosamine, which is one of the best known nutrients for fostering skin renewal and encouraging the production of collagen. However, Clinique’s source for Glucosamine is not known - and upon further investigation it was revealed that Total Turnaround does not contain actual Glucosamine Complex, which is a careful blend of specially derived Glucosamine prized for its optimum effects on the skin.

 Web Site Description

As previously mentioned, the Clinique web site provides very little information about its products’ ingredients or the research behind them. Considering how successful this company is, we have to wonder they did not spend more time or money to communicate clearly to consumers about their products. In addition, the AntiAging-Reviews.com team could not find any testimonials attesting to Total Turnaround’s supposed benefits.

 Positives

- Use of Glucosamine, a proven collagen booster (but the wrong source of Glucosamine)

 Negatives

- Very little information available on the web site

- No customer testimonials

- Direct purchase option only - no Free Trial

 Conclusion

While members of our team would - and regularly do - use Clinique makeup products, they are less than enthusiastic about Total Turnaround. The product seems inconsistent. We still do not understand the addition of Salicylic Acid (an anti-acne ingredient), and even the Glucosamine in the product seems inferior. We cannot recommend this product at this time.

Overview

Although this company is relatively new, it does seem to claim that its products are based on an age-old discovery made by a French biologist, who accidentally discovered an ingredient called Vitreoscilla Ferment. Even though the researchers at AntiAging-Reviews.com had never heard about such an ingredient, and were skeptical of the fact that Biotherm does not name the scientist or give more research details, we nonetheless tried to keep an open mind when reviewing their Source Therapie anti-aging formulas.

 Featured Ingredients

One of the things that bothered us is that - aside from a fanciful story about Vitreoscilla Ferment - Biotherm does not specifically list the ingredients of its anti-wrinkle products. Even though the company’s Peel Lotion Daily Wrinkle Reducer claims to stimulate cellular renewal after exfoliation so that old skin can be replace with new, wrinkle-free skin, there is no information available on which ingredients achieve this effect. Likewise, the Biotherm Superactiv Concentrated Skin Perfect Serum supposedly makes the skin radiant and resistant to the visible effects of premature skin aging within 5 days, but we cannot determine a full ingredient list for the formula. The only thing known about Vitreoscilla Ferment, on the other hand, is that the French biologist apparently found that this comes from mineral-rich springs high up in the French Alps. While that may make a nice story, it seems like a marketing ploy. We would prefer hard science instead.

 Web Site Description

Even though the site does not contain any serious violations of disclosure, the AntiAging-Reviews.com team is disturbed by the lack of information on the site. It is not clear if the product can be tried for free, there are no customer testimonials, but worst of all, the company does not even go into a full description about the featured ingredient of its products - Vitreoscilla Ferment. That concerns us.

 Positives

- Site has a questionnaire that visitors can fill out to determine their skin type

 Negatives

- No ingredients listed

- No research on featured ingredient Vitreoscilla Ferment

- No testimonials or free trial option

 Conclusion

While the impression that Biotherm gives is that of a refined and luxury spa-like treatment for the skin, the facts - or the lack of facts we should say - speak for themselves. If consumers are truly looking for formula that will foster skin renewal and reduce wrinkles and lines - while also preventing the development of future wrinkles - the AntiAging-Reviews.com team instead recommends finding a formula including Glucosamine Complex, Lifting Spheres and/or Regenex. You might not get a story, but you’ll probably notice fewer wrinkles and lines by using these proven ingredients.
