Overview

The Dior Capture 60/80 anti-wrinkle formula is one of the latest offerings from Christian Dior, a cosmetic company with a large international following. Its name might be synonymous with luxurious makeup and other high-end products, but the experience of the AntiAging-Reviews.com researchers shows that this does not necessarily translate into the most effective wrinkle reducing formulas. For this reason, we decided to look critically at this formula to see if it measured up to its claims.

 Featured Ingredients

According to the company, Dior Capture 60/80 is meant to perform a mild exfoliating action on the skin that sets the stage for its marine-derived peptides (proteins) to help rejuvenate skin. While this is a novel concept - removing dead skin and replacing it with fresh and healthy skin - unfortunately, Christian Dior does not provide specific information on the ingredients within the formula that are meant to accomplish these feats. The only thing we can determine is that Dior Capture 60/80 a compound called “pure micro-protein” along with a seaweed extract that is supposed to stimulate the skin. But these ingredients are never named, and the company’s web site provides no scientific data to back up its claims.

This, in and of itself, is disturbing, since AntiAging-Reviews.com strongly believe that consumers should be fully informed of the ingredients in a product and be able to read the scientific research for themselves. In addition, Dior Capture 60/80 does not include either Glucosamine Complex or Hyaluronic Acid, which are perhaps the two best ingredients for exfoliating the skin and encouraging collagen production.

 Web Site Description

Although the web site is attractive, and gives plenty of information about the history of Christian Dior, it does not give any specifics about the ingredients in the product. In addition, no customer testimonials are posted and no scientific research is contained on the site. Apparently, the company also does not offer consumers the chance to try the formula for free before purchasing.

 Positives

- Company name has strong international recognition

 Negatives

- Information on ingredients not posted

- No consumer testimonials

- Does not contain Glucosamine Complex or Hyaluronic Acid

- No free trial offered

 Conclusion

Although it would be nice if a company like Christian Dior took as much time to research and offer an advanced wrinkle reducer as it takes to build its reputation and produce sophisticated advertisement. But given the limited information available on Dior Capture 60/80, we cannot recommend this product at this time.

Overview

Dermatox SC is produced by the company with the same name (Dermatox), which offers several types of skincare products. Dermatox SC is supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while also moisturizing and toning the skin for a more youthful appearance. Although many products offer these multiple effects, the AntiAging-Reviews.com research team has found very few that can deliver as promised. Unfortunately, Dermatox SC is not one of them.

 Featured Ingredients

One of the biggest problems with Dermatox SC is that it contains more than 20 ingredients. Unfortunately, this many ingredients usually means that each ingredient occurs in such low concentrations that they are unlikely to perform any therapeutic effect. In addition, the ingredients selected may not be the best choices. For example, Dermatox SC contains Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter, which are supposed to hydrate the skin. Recently, these two ingredients have become outdated because most people find them to feel heavy and may in fact clog pores.

In addition, Dermatox SC contains an ingredient called Palmitoyl Peptide, which is a complex of proteins intended to stimulate collagen production in the skin. Unfortunately, Dermatox does not cite any scientific research about Palmitoyl Peptide attesting to its effects. In addition, the AntiAging-Reviews.com team has found that Glucosamine Complex and other compounds such as Regenex have a much better success rate at stimulating collagen production than Palmitoyl Peptide.

 Web Site Description

The web site for Dermatox SC seems fairly straightforward, until one realizes that there is a lot of information missing. As mentioned, there are no scientific studies on many of the ingredients, and the customer testimonials are lacking. In addition, it is not totally clear whether consumers can try Dermatox SC risk-free before purchasing.

 Positives

- Several hydrating ingredients in one formula

 Negatives

- Ingredients are outdated and not the most effective

- No online testimonials posted

- Does not contain Glucosamine Complex or Regenex

- Formula contains more than 20 ingredients, which may be diluted

 Conclusion

Based on these facts, the AntiAging-Reviews.com research team recommends that consumers look elsewhere when searching for a wrinkle reducer formula. Dermatox SC simply fails to deliver, and you would be better off finding a formula containing Glucosamine Complex< Regenex and Hyaluronic Acid.

Overview

Sisley is a company that was founded by a French nobleman in 1978, who wanted to create a line of cosmetic formulas based on “phytocosmetology,” or the belief that one should be able to avoid synthetic products in promoting beautiful skin. The company has a strong reputation for developing products that contain a wide array of plant-derived ingredients, many of which can have significant protective effects for the skin. While this dimension is important for the skin, the AntiAging-reviews.com research team wondered whether Sisley’s Intensive Night Care cream would be able to have any noticeable reduction in wrinkles or fine lines.

 Featured Ingredients

Many of the botanical ingredients in Sisley Intensive Night Care do have a promising amount of scientific research attesting to their abilities to protect the skin from damage. Chamomile has been used for centuries to calm inflammation in skin, which can help keep wrinkling from occurring. In addition, Lily acts as both an antioxidant to neutralize free radicals as well as help the skin to retain moisture, although in a way that is much more limited than other known moisturizers such as Hyaluronic Acid. St. John’s wort has also been used to help keep inflammation in check, but some scientists are concerned with side effects from using this plant extract, especially in those with a family history of cancer.

While Sisley Intensive Night Care may in fact have a protective effect on the skin and help ward off free radicals, we were surprised that the formula did not also include other known plant protectors as Green Tea, White Tea and Grape Seed Extract. In addition, while protection is important, the formula does not seem to do anything about wrinkles that are already present on the skin. A better choice seems to be a formula, perhaps similar to Dermitàge, which not only protects the skin but also employs collagen boosters like Regenex and Glucosamine Complex.

 Web Site Description

The Sisley web site does seem to have a fairly clear and accurate presentation of its products, company background and ingredients used in its formulas. However, the customer testimonials are lacking, and it does not appear as if consumers can try any of the Sisley formulas for free before committing to paying full price. Most Sisley products are not available online and much be purchased at retail stores.

 Positives

- Good use of protective botanicals for the skin

 Negatives

- Does not include Green Tea, White Tea or Grape Seed Extract

- No collagen boosters like Glucosamine or Regenex

- No free trial offered

 Conclusion

While Sisley is on the right track by using known botanicals to help protect the skin, the company’s Intensive Night Care formula falls a bit short. We’d like to see the formula include Green Tea, White Tea and Grape Seed Extract. In addition, a more complete formula would also contain nutrients like Glucosamine Complex and Regenex to boost collagen in the skin and truly help reduce wrinkles that may already be on your skin.

Overview

Biotica is a cosmetic company based in California, with some manufacturing facilities in Mexico. The company produces a three-part anti-wrinkle system, of which Biotica Wrinkle Reducing Day Cream is a featured portion. This product is supposed to reduce wrinkles and fine lines visibly within a few days. Whenever a company makes that claim, the AntiAging-Reviews.com research team feels it is their duty to investigate further and find out if the ingredients can truly deliver as promised.

 Featured Ingredients

Unfortunately, most of the ingredients in Biotica Wrinkle Reducing Day Cream fail to live up to expectations. Although the product contains the antioxidant Thermo Thermophilus, a rare plant extract, the company claims that this ingredient can repair free radical damage to the skin. However, in our scientific experience, antioxidants can only help prevent damage, not repair it, so this bold claim concerns us. In addition, Biotica Wrinkle Reducing Day Cream also contains Lipo-peptides, which are a combination of lipids (fats) and peptides (proteins) that can supposedly help the skin hold onto moisture while also encouraging repair of damaged collagen in the skin. While this is an intriguing concept, the fact is that the company does not disclose exactly what lipids or peptides are used, so it is hard to judge their effectiveness.

In addition, two ingredients in the formula concern us. One is Isopropyl Myristate, which is a complex made up of Isoproyl alcohol and Myristic acid, which is supposed to enhance absorption of ingredients into the skin. Unfortunately, this ingredient can be extremely irritating to many who use it. In addition, Biotica Wrinkle Reducing Day Cream contains Butylene Glycol, a chemical derived from petroleum (oil), which can have major clogging effects on the skin.

 Web Site Description

Although the Biotica web site seems to promote the effects of Wrinkle Reducing Day Cream as a product that can be used on its own, further investigation reveals that one much purchase the formula as part of a three-part system to notice the true effects. Considering that consumers cannot purchase any Biotica products directly from the web site, and must instead buy bulk or ‘wholesale’ means that the company may be forcing consumers to put forth a great deal of money up front, which disturbs us.

 Positives

- Product may have some useful collagen boosters

 Negatives

- Antioxidant claims are inaccurate

- Product contains Isopropyl Myristate and Butylene Glycol, two known irritants

- No free trial, consumers must buy wholesale

 Conclusion

Biotica Wrinkle Day Cream seems to miss the mark on several occasions. Not only do the company’s claims about antioxidants seem inaccurate, but the formula’s inclusion of known irritants is disturbing. Considering that consumers now value safety so highly, we cannot recommend this product.
