Overview

ReVive was created by plastic surgeon Dr. Gregory Bays Brown, who started this company based on his invention of an ingredient complex known as Epidermal Growth Factor. Dr. Brown believes that this compound can stimulate cell growth in the skin and thus help regenerate aging skin. That is quite a claim, and one that deserved more of our attention.

 Featured Ingredients

As mentioned, ReVive Moisturizing Renewal Cream features Epidermal Growth Factor, which apparently is believed to help stimulate the skin to produce more young, healthy cells in the hopes that they can replace old wrinkles cells. There does not seem to be very much research on this ingredient, so this effect may be questioned, especially in comparison to other known collagen boosters like Glucosamine Complex.

Before new skin cells can replace old ones, the old cells must be removed from the surface. Usually this is accomplished through the use of an exfoliant. ReVive attempts to do this with Glycolic Acid. While Glycolic Acid does exfoliate the skin, it has fallen out of favor with many skincare professionals, because it can irritate many skin types.

In addition, the antioxidants used in the formula - Vitamins A, C and E - do seem to have a protective effect on the skin. But often these vitamins come from synthetic sources. Plus, they are most effective when combined with known botanical antioxidants such as Green Tea, White Tea and Grape Seed Extract. Unfortunately, ReVive’s Moisturizing Renewal Cream does not contain these powerful ingredients.

 Web Site Description

The ReVive web site is actually quite informative. It includes a complete listing of its products’ ingredients, as well as a thorough history of the company. The web site also contains detail Question and Answer sections to help put customers at ease. Unfortunately, this does not seem enough to compensate for some of the weaknesses in the Moisturizing Renewal Cream already mentioned. In addition, the company does not include customer testimonials on its web site, which can be helpful in helping consumers see how a product has worked with other people.

 Positives

- Very informative and well constructed web site

 Negatives

- Product many contain harsh exfoliants and weak antioxidants

- Does not include Glucosamine Complex for collagen boosting

- Science on Epidermal Growth Factor has not been verified

- No free trial

 Conclusion

While ReVive Moisturizing Renewal Cream does possess some positive elements, this product is far from a complete wrinkle reducer. In order to achieve best results and make skin truly look younger, AntiAging-Reviews.com has found that the best products include Glucosamine Complex, Lifting Spheres, Hyaluronic Acid and other known skin revitalizers. Maybe ReVive’s next anti-wrinkle effort will come closer.

Overview

This 4-step system claims to provide all the steps one needs to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, firm the skin and provide 24-hour AM/PM protection for the skin. While these are achievable goals, AntiAging-Reviews.com was suspicious of Hydroxatone because it requires costumers to purchase all four products in the skin. In our experience, one does not need to use four separate products to achieve these results. Instead, most of these effects can be combined in a simple 2-step system instead. But the team decided to research Hydroxatone further.

 Featured Ingredients

While each of the four products in the Hydroxatone system offer their own effect and claim to perform separate benefits for the skin, most of the components contain the same active ingredients. One of these is Argireline, a peptide complex that is supposed to mimic the effects of Botox and firm the skin. Unlike Botox, Argireline does not freeze facial muscles but instead relaxes them in the hopes of wiping out creases in the skin. While this is admirable, the research behind Argireline seems inconsistent. And the effect seems rather temporary, especially when compared to the approach of encouraging collagen production in the skin.

Hydroxatone does include a collagen booster in its 4-step system. Matrixyl 3000 is found in many products and thus has received a lot of publicity. But it may not be the most effective collagen booster on the market, especially when put head-to-head against Glucosamine Complex. In addition, the fact that Matrixyl 3000 can be found in so many products makes us question whether Hydroxatone is really anything special.

It should be noted, however, that the Hydroxatone system does include Hyaluronic Acid, which is one of the best skin moisturizers available. Hyaluronic Acid can hold 1,000 times its own weight in water and thus helps keep skin smooth and soft. At least this ingredient is a wise choice.

 Web Site Description

The Hydroxatone does contain plenty of information about its products, as well as information on how consumers can try the 4-step system for free. But some of the aspects of the site, including testimonials that seem too good to be true, left theAntiAging-Reviews.com research team wondering about their authenticity.

 Positives

- Includes Hyaluronic Acid, a powerful moisturizer and anti-wrinkle compound

 Negatives

- Product requires use of all 4 products in the system

- Testimonials seem too good to be true

- No Glucosamine Complex, Lifting Spheres or natural botanical antioxidants

 Conclusion

We remain suspicious of the Hydroxatone 4-step system, simply because the company seems to be suggesting that all four effects for the skin must be accomplished by four separate products. We disagree. Research suggests that these effects should only require two steps, as in the Dermitage two-step system, and feel that Hydroxatone created 4 steps only to keep the price of the system higher than most.

Overview

Redoxa is actually produced by Benev, a company that distributes many kinds of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products throughout the world. This company has a good reputation, and recently its Redoxa formula was brought to our attention because it has been featured prominently in many online marketing efforts. Most of the time, however, this formula is available only through a doctor’s office, so access may be seriously limited.

 Featured Ingredients

DMAE. This nutrient was first used as a capsule supplement for older folks looking to ward off some of the effects of brain decline that occur during aging. Thus, it makes a curious choice for a skincare product, to say the least. There have been one or two small, limited studies, however, that suggest that DMAE may help prevent some signs of premature aging in the skin when applied topically. However, this nutrient does not seem to have a direct effect on wrinkles and seems particularly weak when compared to Glucosamine Complex, Lifting Spheres and other such compounds

Vitamin C and Vitamin E. While these two vitamins are important antioxidants that the body uses to guard against free radical damage, there use is beginning to diminish. Most of this can be blamed on the fact that many creams now include synthetic forms of these vitamins, which may not be effect and could cause some side effects. In contrast, many skin companies are now using natural botanical antioxidants like Green Tea, White Tea and Grape Seed Extract, which seem to be more powerful and more natural choices.

 Web Site Description

The web site for Redoxa does seem to have ample information about the product, even though it does not contain very many details about DMAE and its reputed effects on the skin. In addition, since Redoxa is usually available only through a doctor’s office, no price is listed. No free trial is available.

 Positives

- Company has a good reputation for its pharmaceutical products

 Negatives

- DMAE is unproven for the skin

- Vitamin C and Vitamin E from synthetic sources

- No free trial available

 Conclusion

Even considering Benev’s reputation internationally, we cannot recommend the Redoxa formula at this time. This product seems to be a weak offering and may not address many of the key causes of wrinkles, including decrease in collagen and loss of moisture. Instead, we would prefer products containing Glucosamine Complex and Hyaluronic Acid.

Overview

The makers of Collagen RX claim that this product can reduce wrinkles and make skin younger. They also report that this formula uses a superior delivery system to penetrate the skin, which theoretically would be a helpful alternative to Botox and other types of injections. A closer look reveals that Collagen RX seems to be more hype than anything else.

 Featured Ingredients

Collagen RX gets off on the wrong foot because it is soon revealed that this formula contains primarily Purified Water and Collagen. While it may seem a good idea to provide water to the skin - since loss of moisture is a key reason why skin becomes dry and wrinkles form - the fact remains that water itself does not make a good anti-aging component. The skin, as it ages, has a hard time absorbing and retaining water and thus any plumping or moisturizing effect will be temporary at best. A better strategy to promote moisturization is by using Hyaluronic Acid.

In addition, the AntiAging-Reviews.com research team remains skeptical of any product claiming to deliver collagen to the skin. To our knowledge, this feat is accomplished only through injection, since whole collagen molecules are too large to penetrate the outer layers of skin. Plus, many products use questionable sources for their collagen, including bovine (cow) or shellfish. In contrast, it makes more sense to stimulate the skin to produce more of its own collagen through such powerful ingredients as Glucosamine Complex.

 Web Site Description

At first glance, the web site for Collagen RX seems like it will be informative. But then it is soon revealed that very little research is included on the site. No testimonials are posted on the site, making us wonder whether any customers have in fact had any success with the product. In addition, it is unclear if customers can try the product for free before purchasing a full supply.

 Positives

- May have slight and temporary moisturizing effect

 Negatives

- Collagen cannot be delivered through the skin effectively

- No testimonials or free trial option

- Does not contain Glucosamine Complex or Hyaluronic Acid

 Conclusion

Although the concept behind Collagen RX seems to be a good one, the product fails to deliver on many levels. The lack of a tried and true anti-aging ingredient concerns us, and the notion that the formula can deliver whole collagen molecules simply falls flat. Those looking to reduce lines and wrinkles would be best served looking elsewhere.

The Dermitage system continues to set the standard for reducing and preventing wrinkles without injections. The AntiAging-Reviews.com research team continues to be impressed by this formula's advanced technology, which allows for deep delivery of its potent anti-aging compounds. Not only does Dermitage help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but it also helps boost collagen production, promotes optimum moisturization and provides antioxidant protection so that your skin resists the main causes of skin aging.
